Concrete Satellite Technology Corporation, doing business as ConkSat, is a private American aerospace company headquartered in Long Beach, CA. Founded in 1957 in response to the Sputnik crisis, the company has made numerous advances in technology.[1]

ConkSat was originally founded by team of researchers to explore the use of novel materials in spaceflight, under the mistaken [citation needed] belief that concrete could be used as a spacecraft material. [2]
